Equipment Operator
Position Details
We are seeking Equipment Operators (EO) to join our team! Our Equipment Operators are responsible for aiding daily operations that include excavating around utilities to couple conduit (tie-in's'), set vaults, handholes, pedestals and other termination enclosures. The EO is involved in all facets of the successful completion of projects and tasks. This candidate will be required to set safety as the priority and apply those principles personally and to their respective team members.
Responsibilities:
- Excavate to couple/tie-in conduit.
- Excavate and set pull boxes, handholes and other termination enclosures
- Open trench areas not suitable for other methods.
- Compact and restore ground disturbed by construction activities
- Ensure proper equipment function by performing daily inspections and servicing of equipment.
- Maintain and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Enforce stop-work authority.
- Safely work in all-weather environments.
- Uses hand tools and other equipment associated with the vehicle.
Qualifications:
- Strong work ethic.
- Must be able to understand how to read utility marking.
- Valid US Driver's License.
- Ability to operate equipment, including, but not limited to: locating systems, trenchers, jump-jacks and excavators.
- Mini-Excavator Experience.
- Able to safely work in a fast-paced environment, with or without supervision
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screens
Preferred Qualifications:
- CDL - Class A.
- Tanker Endorsement.
- OSHA 10/40
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
Successful candidates will be required to submit to criminal background check and may be subject to a drug screen.
